Another Hero to Kids
Stephanee Druoin 4KIDS
"The Lord gave me my house, and when I die I want to give it back to Him," says Stephanee Drouin, foster mom with 4KIDS of South Florida. Stephanee's big heart for abused and hurting children is exemplified day after day in her home and in our community.
Responding to the Plea
Fifty-seven year old Stephanee isn't sick, nor is she sitting around focused on dying. But she is thinking about the future of South Florida's modern-day orphans. She knows that while we campaign now for child sponsors and homes for abused children, the next generation of kids will need homes also. And so she did what came naturally to her: she willed her home to 4KIDS.
Opening Her Home
Stephanee saw firsthand the significance of providing a comfortable home for hurting children, which led to her decision about willing her home to 4KIDS. "After my husband died, I didn't want to move," Stephanee explains. "It's a God-story about how I got my new home right across the street from where we lived. The house is perfect for foster care, with an empty bedroom to use for foster children".
Sharing Her Heart
"I've never had children personally, but I always wanted them," says Stephanee, "so this is how the Lord gave me children . . . and now I'm even a grandmother. My first foster daughter just had a baby and named him after another of our foster children. I think this shows how my children have developed a sense of family connection with each other."
