Room for Two More
Kevin Enders 4KIDS
"Not a day goes by where my wife and I are almost brought to tears of joy when we see and hold our adopted children," says Kevin. He's a dad who works hard all day – and then comes home at night to a home full of love, laughter, and five kids ranging in age from three to fifteen.
Five years ago, Kevin and his wife heard about the need for families to step up and care for the modern-day orphans in their community. They both felt this was something they were supposed to do. "At the time, we had three biological kids and a spare bedroom in our home," explains Kevin. "So we offered God our extra room – and He blessed us above and beyond what we could have ever asked or imagined."
Kevin and Michelle took the classes required for foster parenting and began welcoming foster kids into their home. But things changed quickly when they received a call to foster a baby boy who had been in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. They brought Ryan home from SafePlace 4KIDS as their foster son, but soon realized he was meant to be their forever son. Soon after Ryan's first birthday, his adoption was final.
And One More Makes Five
With four kids already in their home, Kevin and Michelle continued opening their hearts to kids in crisis. But one morning, they received a call – another call – that again changed everything. Ryan's newborn biological sister needed a family, too. In "lightning fast" time, Kevin and Michelle and the kids welcomed baby Gabriella into their lives.
"Throughout the process . . . from our MAPP training through the final gavel of our two adoptions, God has grown our faith and blessed us," says Kevin. "The staff at 4KIDS is a part of our "forever family." They are committed to the children and their families . . . until every child has a home."
